I spend too much time here. Too much time in the audio portal, to be exact.

Technical Difficulties

Posted by GeneralJ Oct. 18, 2009 @ 11:52 AM EDT

It appears that my pathetic hard drive is slowly losing the battle of life. Many strange occurrences with my machine have been taking place over the last couple of days, occurrences that would leave me to believe that I either fried a necessary component of my system hardware, or I had been hacked. My first sign of frying my hardware was the bsd that would appear just as the OS attempted to load. This was fixed by simply reloading the motherboard. I understand that shit happens, especially with a computer, but I seen no way that playing a game such as combat arms, or killing floor would cause the settings in my BIOS to change to the point that my machine won't properly load.
The following day, my machine would randomly crash when I would attempt actions such as opening a web browser, or simply launching Ventrilo, leading me to believe I was being hacked. Upon further investigation of the matter, it has been decided that my hard drive is beginning to die. On the other hand, I have a 500 GB drive waiting to be Ghosted, which I continue to procrastinate on.
I will make the switch sometime this week, and hope for the best.
I hope that, if my methods of detection fail me, that I may come to find the source of my errors. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
